The Chapel of the Holy Cross welcomes several million Pilgrims and tourists every year. It is a place of great beauty and peace.
Built to a twin pinnacled spur, about 250 feet high, jutting out a thousand foot rock wall, “solid as the rock of Peter” the building of the Chapel was completed in April, 1956.
Please help us maintain its atmosphere by maintaining silence, not eating or drinking, and leaving your pets outside when entering the Chapel building.
Parking: Parking is limited (45 spaces). All parking is to the right of the roadway. There is a turnaround at the top of the hill where you can drop people off. Please pull into whatever spot is available. Golf carts can assist people getting to the Chapel ramp. Wheel chairs are available for families to use as needed. No RV’s and trailers.
Gift Shop: The gift shop is run by St. John Vianney Catholic Church. It is open daily from 9:30 am – 4:30 pm and is located on the lower floor of the Chapel building. Many items are produced by local artists. The gift shop is closed on Easter and Christmas.
Restrooms: There are only limited facilities at the Chapel. Porta-potties are at the base of the hill.
Religious Services: Taizé Prayer is on Mondays at 5:00pm.
